Our standard flange mounts are one of our best-selling pieces. This could be because of their affordability, their versatility or their low cost-(ability).
Check out their features below, and decide for yourself.
FM Series of SIDE
FLANGE MOUNTINGS

This line of flange mounted bearings in smaller shaft sizes supplements the larger
2-bolt Side Flange Bearings
which have been among the most popular styles in the Triangle product line. The
mounting contains a self-aligning bearing ball unit. This can either be solid
nylon (FMN) or a pressed steel ball with a sintered bronze bushing (FMA).
APPLICATIONS:
The side flange is suitable for use on a wide variety of mechanical equipment
where relatively light loads and nominal shaft speeds are involved. Carrying
control shafting, hinge pins or lightly loaded power shafting are typical uses
for nylon ball units. Bronze ball units will operate successfully at higher
shaft speeds, higher temperatures and with more precise clearances.
FEATURES:
- Self aligning
- Low cost
- Easy to assemble
- Can be flush mounted
- No lubrication required in most applications
- Nylon will run dry or with a light film of oil almost indefinitely under the right conditions
- Sintered bronze units are self lubricating and contain enough oil for the life of the equipment except where extreme conditions involving high speeds or high temperatures may be involved
VARIATIONS:
Choice of nylon or bronze bushed steel ball units is offered depending on
operating conditions. Alterations or variations of mountings available for high
volume orders to OEM's.
FA, FB, FC
SERIES

FEATURES: The
2-bolt Side Flange Bearings have all the advantages of Triangle's sleeve type
Pillow Blocks but in a different form of mounting. Low cost, easy installation
and versatility are maintained with an additional side mounting option.
VARIATIONS:
These three mountings take any standard steel or cast iron ban units with 1
11/16", 2" or 2 1/2" outside diameter. A variety of lubricants and bushing materials
are available for common or unusual applications.
FD, FE, FF
SERIES (4-bolt)

APPLICATIONS:
These bearings have been used successfully in many varied applications from farm equipment, lawn and garden
equipment, construction equipment, HVAC, the automotive industry, conveyors,
and other uses where a sturdy, dependable bearing support is needed for side
mounting on panels, plates or housings. It can also be used to handle vertical
shafts.

FEATURES:
The 4-bolt mounting is stronger and stiffer than the 2-bolt mountings of
comparable size and is able to withstand heavier loads and greater shock. Ball
and socket action provides full self-alignment to compensate for possible
irregularities in the mounting surfaces and in other components. Zinc plating
on .11 steel parts adds effective rust resistance.
VARIATIONS:
All Triangle Mfg steel or cast iron ball units except the miniature sizes are
available in 4-bolt Side
Flange Mountings. Cast iron balls are recommended for more rugged
applications. Lubricants, bushing materials, bore sizes and tolerances, and
other details can be varied to special order to meet exacting requirements for
unusual operating conditions.
GB SERIES
- 3-Bolt Mid Flange Bearings
APPLICATIONS:
For recessed side mounting with part of the bearing assembly extending into an
opening in
the panel or mounting surface. Specified for use on conveyors, farm equipment,
snow blowers and mowers as well as in transportation equipment, ice making
machines, packaging machinery and many others.
FEATURES:
- Compact mounting
- Low cost
- Fully self-aligning with ball and socket action
- Steel parts zinc plated for rust protection
- Large lubricant reservoir with either drawn steel or cast iron ball units
Bearing
center heights that are higher than average and cannot be handled by conventional Pillow
Blocks are easily matched by mountings of this type (GB). Variation in bolt
spacing is also possible. Rigidity under both radial and thrust loads is
obtained by using heavy gauge steel. Further strength can be obtained by
turning up the edges, beading and similar methods when necessary.
The fundamental principle in all of these designs is
the use of a simple back plate with a punched hole that is the exact size to form a socket for the bearing ball
unit.
VARIATIONS:
2-bolt or 4-bolt mounting patterns are supplied
to special orders. Standard units include any "H" or "J"
ball units. Lubrication is oil, grease or permanently lubricated closed balls.
Grooved
and graphited solid bronze bushings are
also available for special applications.
GA SERIES
- 3-Bolt Mid Flange Bearings
The GA
Series is the same as the GB Series except that the mounting does not include a
back plate. The punching and forming of this mounting surface to the proper dimensions
to act as a back plate is provided by the customer. This saves the cost of an
additional stamping, reduces handling time and makes an even more compact mounting.
All other features and variations are similar.
CK SERIES
- Center Flange Mountings

APPLICATIONS:
This smaller companion to the CB, EE and EF series Center Flange bearings is
designed for lighter duty applications or where smaller types of equipment
impose space limitations. This design is somewhat stronger than Side Flange
mountings, but requires a hole in the mounting panel so the assembly may
protrude slightly to the opposite side. Successful applications vary from handling
control shafting on heavy construction equipment to carrying louver
type sun shades.
FEATURES:
- No lubrication required.
- Self-aligning.
- Low cost.
- Easy to assemble.
- Designed with space restrictions in mind
VARIATIONS:
Choice of nylon or steel ball unit with sintered bronze bushing depending on
operating conditions. Modifications of the mounting are available to high
volume orders to needing special requirements.
CB SERIES

APPLICATIONS:
For flange or side mounting with the bearing centered in a hole in panel and
held in place by two identical flange sockets. Applicable to farm equipment,
food processing machinery, packaging machines, conveyors and many other types
of mechanical equipment. With a closed bearing ball (no lubrication fitting) a
bearing is used for positioning control shafts or in similar applications where
shaft speeds are slow and lubricant consumption nominal.
FEATURES:
- Lower in cost than side flange units yet stronger because the load is centered over the flange
- Minimum space is required since bearing protrudes through the panel or plate on which it is mounted
- Ball and socket construction allows full self-alignment
VARIATIONS:
Also available with extra-strength heavier mountings. Standard units are
supplied with oil cup, grease fitting, or a permanently lubricated closed ball.
Bolt holes can be varied in size, shape, number and location.
